The Art of Reading #3 : A Literate Tattoo
When you observe people reading their newspapers, above all, I guess, when they sit in a public place like our Cafe Masko, you really can see that the whole personality is involved in this act. Not only the hands which hold the paper, but also the body , the head, the hair, the lips, etc.
Even the tattoo seems “to lend an eye”!
To be honest, just by looking at the way this guy is reading, I know that he could not be my friend. You might think that I judge too quickly, but this attitude says so much about his character, I find. I would be really interested to know what YOU think he is inside, when you look at my sketch. It would be great if you could tell me in your comments…
Anyway, he was a great model for me, and I am thankful for it!
ATTENTION PLEASE!
I speak and read French, German, English, Spanish, and understand some others too…
so please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or to contact me in your own language!

Well, I’m not one to judge people, but since you asked. . .I think he’s some kind of salesman on vacatoin. I mean he’s probably got a big personality that forces itself on you – and that’s why you wouldn’t like him Miki.
Well, Susan, I don’t really judge either… but one cannot help to feel some sympathy or not, for our models, can we? At least I can’t help…
Funny with the salesman on vacation… I thought he was a builder, somehow… a romantic one, of course, because of the flower on his arm
I could say I’m not one to judge, but that would probably be a lie! I’m from Australia so that might influence my opinion a bit, but when i look at him i see a guy that spends most of his time at the pub with his mates slurring at pretty girls! (maybe it’s the flannelet singlet?)
Also i just wanted to say i checked out your portraits and think they’re fantastic!
Hi Mary, and thanks very much for your visit and comment!
You made me laugh!
But this one was English, and was sitting there with a woman and a child, his family I guess… and he really was only interested in his newspapers!!
I have seen that you are a student of Arts, good luck! I will check your blog soon.
Would be nice to see you agin here!
I speak ein bichen spanich (?) und ich want to say : so funny hear !
@Pomme…”I speak ein bichen Spanich” – that’s SO funny!!
P.S. I want to add my “bon chance” for your exam results!
@Mary – When you say you’re from Australia, I see how you get this guy spot on in my opinion, what makes me laugh is, he reminds me of our ex-keyboard player who’s an Aussie, and indeed a guy who did exactly what you say!
Hey Kevin ! thanks, I crose my fingers and I wait … I’m not afraid…never !
Hello my friends
